The activity center Kanatha-Aki, Native American philosophy meaning "keeper of the land without borders" in Algonquin is located in Val-Des-Lacs in the beautiful Laurentian region. Kanatha-Aki offers an authentic experience: it’s nights in traditional tepee with pine tree and buffalo hide. It’s refuge at the top of a mountain with breathtaking panoramic views, ideal for stargazing and our trapper’s typical log cabin. In addition, we offer offer the unique privilege to meet the largest North American land mammal: the wood bison "athabascae". Kanatha-Aki is the first and only reservation of wood bison in Quebec and that, in order to protect the species currently threatened with extinction. After a few minutes ride where the scents of nature intoxicate you, at the call of the guide, bisons descend from the mountain and you can watch them having their meals. During this unique tour, you will discover the habits and lifestyle of bisons in their immense territory.
